Thyme (thymus vulgaris is one of the easiest herbs to grow especially if you are limited on space in the garden. This plant grows between 12-18" inches high and can be easily grown in container gardens.

The Egyptians used Thyme as part of the embalming ritual to secure passage to the next life. Romans also used this herb and used it in cooking as well as believing it gave courage to knights going into battle.
